Our Story

Back in 1985, Robert Bradley, an architect/real estate developer, was preparing to send his third child to college at Virginia Tech. Having just funded the education of his 2 older children, plus paying rent for their dorms and apartments, he knew there had to be a better way to spend their housing dollars. After all, paying rent for off-campus apartments, dormitories or fraternities/sororities for a college student can add up to thousands of dollars that's never recouped. So Mr. Bradley decided to turn his third student’s housing into a financial opportunity, and thus, University Housing Group was born.

The concept was simple: he built a condominium community designed specifically for college students. His son moved into one of the homes, then rented out the extra bedrooms to help cover the cost of ownership. After graduation, he rented out all the rooms and continued to reap the benefits of his long ago recovered investment. This allowed the younger Mr. Bradley the opportunity to graduate with both honors and equity!

Now run by the younger Mr. Bradley, University Housing Group has added apartments, luxury condominiums, and even a parking deck to the tradition of building quality developments tailored to the college community.
